One of the few Jamaican singers to truely bridge the gap between the Roots and Dancehall Reggae Styles is the man known as Everton Blender. But like many of Jamaica's biggest musical stars
the road to fame was not a short or easy one.
Everton worked as a painter, construction worker and decorator and when he realized the chemicals he worked with was not good for his voice and his health he left the job and decided to persue a singing career.
Everton was born in the Parish of Clarendon Jamaica and grew up in Kingston the Capital Ciy. In 1980 he met Phillys Thomston who later became his wife.
My father's Home, Gwan Natty, Blend Dem, King Man and Lift up Your Head are among his well known hits.
Everton has had many guest appearances with top artists like Beenie Man, Anthony B, Tony Rebel and Marcia Griffiths.
